Chapter President's Message

March was a busy month for Nanaimo Chapter, and a very successful Impact Meeting was held at
the Nanaimo Port Authority Passenger Terminal on March 14th. With twenty-six people in attendance,
there seemed to be plenty of interest in IAAP, and our members were gracious hosts,
making the guests feel welcome, informed and certainly well fed. Our last minute replacement
guest speaker, Jamie Black did a great job presenting Social Media Marketing, despite the fact that
she had very little time to prepare.
Our chapter AGM is fast approaching in May, so it’s time for members to think about the roles
they would like to step into for the next year. As a small chapter, I think it’s important that we
all step outside of our comfort zone and consider a position that we can learn by doing. Just remember,
you’re not in this alone. An important aspect of IAAP membership is leadership development,
and there is an abundance of resource materials and experienced members available to
guide us along the way…so you may want to consider a position on the chapter executive. Let’s
learn together!
